    Medical History, Vision, Blood Pressure, U/A, Biometrics, General Examination and Range of Movement

  • Audiometric

    A hearing test that measures a person’s ability to hear different sounds, pitches, or frequencies.

  • Spirometry

    A spirometry assessment measures lung function, testing breathing capacity and airflow for respiratory health evaluation.

  • Instant Drug & Alcohol Screen

    Urine drug screen including breathalyser alcohol screen in accordance with AS/NZS 4308:2008 standards

  • Laboratory Drug & Alcohol Screen

    Urine drug and alcohol screen tested at laboratory AS/NZS 4308:2008 standards.

  • Resting ECG

    Resting electrocardiogram test recording the heart’s electrical activity, detecting irregularities in rhythm and function at rest.

  • Musculoskeletal Assessment

    Assess functional and physical ability to perform specific tasks safely by assessing an individual’s strength and ability to tolerate a variety of postures and repetitive movements. 

  • Fitness Assessment

    Chester step test – A sub-maximal test that requires a candidate to step on and off a step to test the individual’s aerobic/fitness capacity. Available same day as Pre-Employment medical.

    Yes, Occuhealth is willing to customise our assessments to meet specific company requirements. Please note an additional fee will incur for completion on company specific paperwork.

    • We recommend you wear appropriate attire to your assessment such as activewear and enclosed shoes as you will be required to complete physical components throughout your assessment. 
    • Please bring copies or a list of your current prescription or non-prescription medications 
    • Please bring any relevant medical correspondence from your doctor or specialist relating to recent injuries, medical conditions, surgeries etc 

    Your medical assessment is confidential information and is securely managed and stored in a medical software. Your assessment will be maintained by the requesting Company and Occuhealth and will not be released to other parties without the consent of the employee unless otherwise required by law.

    Additional copies of the assessment will only be released by Occuhealth where the request is in writing, as well as signed by the person the assessment was conducted on, and countersigned by the nominated representative of the company that the original assessment was undertaken and/or paid for.

    Please declare your medical condition in the pre-assessment questionnaire and advise the medical practitioner upon commencing the assessment. 

    We require this information to ensure you do not injure yourself or cause any significant damage to a pre-existing condition. 

    If you have any relevant correspondence from a doctor or specialist regarding the medical condition please provide this to the Medical Practitioner during your appointment. 

    Throughout your appointment you will consult with our team of Medical Practitioners and Allied Health professionals to complete your assessment. 

    Upon completion, our Medical Administrative team will process your results in accordance with our privacy policy and data retention laws. Copies of your assessment will be provided to the requesting company to deem your suitability for the acquired position and will not be released to other parties without your consent unless otherwise required by law.

    Each company may require different components to deem your suitability for a role. However, a standard Pre-Employment Medical may include: 

    • Medical Assessment: medical history, vision test, blood pressure reading, urinalysis, general examination.
    • Range of Movement: Injury or pain assessment, assess joints are functioning, mobility assessment, biometric and postural assessment. 
    • Audiometric Assessment (Hearing test)
